Greetings from the Commission. The above named conference to discuss how Science can transform Africa has been organized for 22-26th August 2016 at the UNEP headquarters in Nairobi. This is an African wide Conference that is being hosted by the Commission for University Education (CUE), The Society for the Advancement of Science in Africa (SASA), The National Council for Science, Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI), the University of Nairobi and the United National Environment program (UNEP). This is the 4th Conference of the society with the first Conference having been held in South Africa (2013), Uganda (2014) and Canada (2015). The theme for this Year’s conference is Advancing Africa’s Sustainable Development Through Science, Technology and Innovation. This is to invite youand your colleagues to this high level conference that will show case the new frontiers of Science and Technology on the Continent. We are also now receiving abstracts which can be uploaded by visiting the website www.sasascience.org. Kindly share this information widely with potential conference attendees. The dateline for submission of abstracts in 30th May, 2016. We are also planning to have a one day Research Methodology Training for doctoral students by the Library of Alexandria (on the sidelines of the Conference), and students who may wish to attend can send in their requests.
