School of Pure and Applied Sciences (SPAS)
The School of Pure and Applied Sciences (SPAS) has grown tremendously from its humble beginn ing a few years back and now boasts of over 780 students in the following programmes, M.Sc. Applied statistics, B.Sc. Statistics, B.Sc. Mathematics and Computer Science, B.Sc. Actuarial Science, B.Sc. Biological Sciences and B.Sc. Physical Sciences. This is backed by highly qualified and motivated faculty team of over 30 members many being PhD holders.
We also boast of diverse post graduate programmes and therefore are open for those wishing to pursue further studies in the following programmes; PhD in Entomology, M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics, M.Sc. in Statistics, M.Sc. in Entomology, M.Sc. in Molecular Biology (Microbiology option). We are in the process of developing and unveiling many more post graduate programmes in the School. Some of the areas that we are looking to launch new programmes for both undergraduate and post graduates include, Environmental Science and Natural Resource Management, Plant sciences, Microbiology and Physical Sciences. We also strive to grow research capabilities in the school. This can be witnessed by our modern laboratories that are utilized by undergraduate, postgraduate students as well as faculty for their research and the peer reviewed publications from students and faculty members.
