The Institute of Cement & Concrete (ICC), at Meru University of Science & Technology, invites you to an enlightening Public Lecture by Dr. Mithila Achintha, Associate Professor in Sustainable Infrastructure Materials at The University of Manchester, UK.
The event will take place on 1st August 2024 at 3:00 PM EAT. Dr. Achintha, an internationally renowned researcher, will address the topic “Sustainable Construction: Challenges and Real-world Solutions.” The lecture will focus deeply on the significant impact of the construction industry on global greenhouse gas emissions, highlighting three major challenges: unsustainable material demand, high carbon impact, and linear material use.
Dr. Achintha will propose innovative solutions focusing on low-carbon materials and holistic sustainability approaches to achieve net-zero targets in construction.
