Ubuntu is our way of life. The MUST community is made up of diverse cultures and experiences brought together by the main aim to acquire quality education. These cultures are unified and embraced through positive human interaction.
Student-led clubs and societies fashion the creative and safe spaces for dialogue, debates, research, innovation, talent development, social movements and fun. This continues to cultivate the strong sense of belonging and unity enjoyed within the MUST community.
MUST students get to learn who society is and most importantly, their role in making our world a better place. Personal life skills are identified, learned and nurtured.
MUST, the Innovation City
MUST has a resourceful innovation ecosystem made up of seasoned leaders and organizations within the national and international realms of technology and innovation.
We are cognizant of the value in collaborations between Universities and Industry. This has led to various linkages with national and international organizations. Our student and staff participate in apprenticeships, hands-on trainings, workshops, global competitions and exchange programmes.
We challenge our students to set and push boundaries while paying attention to unarticulated needs within our societies.
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at our main campus, a timeless and resourceful gift from our Chancellor, Dr. James Mwangi, cements our commitment to incubating ideas into innovations. Students with novel ideas are guided on idea formulation, research, intellectual property and business acumen to ensure seamless development of their innovation.
We invest in partnerships with like-minded organizations like, Konza Technopolis, Huawei, Kenya National Innovation Agency and multiple institutions of higher learning.
MUST, the Research Hub
Research is vital to societal development.
At Meru University of Science and Technology, we undertake research projects designed to make present lasting solutions.
We house and are part of projects that share the vision of our country’s Big 4 Agenda.
From production of affordable cement that links to affordable housing and manufacturing, the paradigm shift in fecal sludge management, a project that turns human waste into bio-fertilizer links to Food Security and “Block Health” the student-led healthcare solution integrating block-chain linked to affordable universal health.
MUST is part of various exchange programs that see our students and faculty visit national and international institutions of higher learning to collaborate on research projects. Quite recently, MUST won an Erasmus + KA107 exchange program grant with University of Padova (UNIPD) Italy.

The sports family within the MUST community inscribes resilience, tenacity and team spirit in all players. These activities serve as key factors in establishing the wholesome university student experience required in nurturing holistically developed graduates.
If you wish to be a part of a University of Excellence, MUST is here for you. Join us in January, May and September.
We exist because our community believed in education and a brighter future for themselves and our country. Through the Meru Council of Elders, Njuri Ncheke, land was donated to kick-start the journey to build a dream University.
