The Meru University Medical Laboratory Students’ Association (MUMeLSA is an official student organization representing all Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences students at Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST).
It brings together students to promote professionalism, innovation, research, and community service while safeguarding their academic and social welfare.

What We Do
The Meru University Medical Laboratory Students’ Association (MUMeLSA) exists to enrich the academic, professional and social life of Medical Laboratory Science students. We do this by:
Promoting professionalism and ethics – We instill high ethical standards and a strong professional culture in our members.
Fostering innovation and research – We train students in research skills, encourage a research culture, and build partnerships with other universities and institutions. Networking and collaboration – We link students with alumni, medical laboratory professionals, and peer associations locally and globally.
Raising awareness of Medical Laboratory Science – We run campaigns, talks, and outreach activities to highlight the importance of laboratory work in healthcare. Encouraging social and cultural interaction – We organize hikes, debates, games, and team-building activities to build unity and vibrancy.
Participating in global health initiatives – We take part in community service, medical camps, public-health campaigns, and environmental conservation.
Supporting student welfare and mentorship – We orient new students, run mentorship programs, and offer support in times of personal need.
Providing avenues for creativity and talent development– We nurture gifts and talents by encouraging creative projects and publications.
Membership
MUMeLSA is open to students with a passion for Medical Laboratory Science at Meru University of Science and Technology.
Full Membership
Open to all students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences at Meru University.
Full members enjoy all rights and privileges of the Association, including voting, contesting for elective positions, and participating in all activities.
Associate Membership
Any student from the School of Health Sciences who is not in Medical Laboratory Sciences but wishes to participate in MUMeLSA’s activities may join as an associate member.
Associate members may take part in events and programs but do not hold voting rights unless stated otherwise in the constitution.
Honorary Membership
Invited postgraduate students and lecturers in the School of Health Sciences may be admitted as honorary members in recognition of their support or contribution to the Association’s activities.
