On 3rd February 2026, Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) hosted a successful German Launch Event at the University’s Graduation Square, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s efforts to expand international opportunities for its students and graduates.

The event was graced by the Principal Secretary, State Department for Diaspora Affairs, Dr. Roseline Njogu, alongside the Chair of the University Council, Prof. James Kanya, and the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Romanus Odhiambo. Their presence underscored the importance of strategic partnerships in enhancing global mobility, skills development, and employment prospects for Kenyan youth.

The German Launch Event aimed to create awareness and provide insights into education, training, and employment opportunities in German-speaking countries, particularly in response to the growing demand for skilled professionals abroad. Through this initiative, MUST continue to position itself as a forward-looking institution committed to preparing students for both local and international labour markets.

 

Speaking during the event, university leadership emphasized the role of international collaborations in equipping students with globally competitive skills, language proficiency, and cultural exposure. The engagement also highlighted pathways for students and graduates to access structured programmes that align academic training with international industry requirements.

 

Dr. Njogu lauded the University’s proactive approach in linking education with diaspora and global employment opportunities, noting that such initiatives contribute to national development by enhancing skills transfer, remittances, and international networks. She encouraged students to take advantage of the opportunities presented while maintaining professionalism and excellence as ambassadors of the country.

The Chair of the University Council and the Vice Chancellor reaffirmed MUST’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with international stakeholders, government agencies, and industry players to support student success beyond graduation.
