VACANCIES

Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) is a state owned University established by the Government of Kenya under the Universities Act 2012. The University is located in Meru County, along the Meru-Maua Road.

MUST aspires to be a World Class University of Excellence in Science and Technology. The mission of the University is to provide Quality University Education, Training and Research in Science, Technology and Innovation.

MUST is a center of excellence in Innovation, Technology, Engineering, Food Science and Agriculture that are some of the key enablers of Kenya’s National agenda including Vision 2030 and the Big Four Agenda.

MUST wishes  to recruit qualified and dedicated staff to fill the following vacant   positions;

ACADEMIC POSITIONS

SENIOR LECTURER   –   GRADE 13  –  MUST/ACA/01/1/2022   –   1 POST

Applicants are invited for the post of a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Medicine.

Applicants must have:

  1. An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification (or a Master’s degree qualification in special cases) in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university;
  2. At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the University level as a Lecturer or six (6) years research/industry experience;
  3. A minimum of thirty two (32) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, of which at least twenty four (24) should be from refereed scholarly journals;
  4. Supervised at least three (3) post graduate students to completion as a Lecturer or equivalent;
  5. Be registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable)

ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER – GRADE 14 – MUST/ADM/01/1/2022 – 1 POST

Applicants are invited for the post of a Human Resource Manager:

Applicants must:

  1. Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management;
  2. Have at least 12 years in a relevant Human Resource Management position, three (3) of which must have served at the position of Senior Human Resource Officer in a public University/institutions of higher learning or equivalent;
  3. Be a registered member of the Institute of Human Resource Management with a valid practicing license;
  4. Be proficient in Microsoft Computer Applications;
  5. Be self- Motivated team player with good inter-personal and Communication Skills;

 

LEGAL OFFICER – GRADE 12 – MUST/ADM/02/1/2022  – 1 POST

Applicants are invited for the post of Legal Officer:

Applicants must:

  1. Be holders of a Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law;
  2. Be admitted as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya;
  3. Be a member of the Law Society of Kenya with good standing and have a current practicing certificate;
  4. Have at least five (5) years post-qualifications relevant working experience in a busy firm or in a University;
  5. Be proficient in Microsoft Computer Applications;
  6. Be self- Motivated team player with good inter-personal and Communication Skills;
  7. Masters of Laws Degree from a recognized University will be an added advantage.

 

ASSISTANT LEGAL OFFICER – GRADE 8 – MUST/ADM/03/1/2022 –   1 POST

Applicants are invited for the post of Assistant Legal Officer

Applicants must:

  1. Be holders of a Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized University and a postgraduate. Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law;
  2. Be admitted as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya;
  3. Be a member of the Law Society of Kenya with good standing and have a current practicing certificate;
  4. Have at least three (3) years post-qualifications relevant working experience in a busy firm or in a University;
  5. Be proficient in Microsoft Computer Applications;
  6. Be self- Motivated team player with good inter-personal and Communication Skills.

 

REMUNERATION

A competitive remuneration will be paid in accordance with the Meru University of Science and Technology Terms and Conditions of service.

  1. Applications should be received on or before close of business on 28th February, 2022 by 5:00 pm.
  2. Shortlisted candidates MUST present and satisfy the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the constitution of Kenya 2010 during interviews by providing original copies of the following documents;
    1. A tax compliance certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority
    2. A clearance certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board
    3. Clearance certificate from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission
    4. A clearance certificate from a Registered Credit Reference Bureau in Kenya
  3. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification.
