Meru University Concludes A Successful Exhibition At The Ask National Show 2025
Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) successfully participated in the Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) National Show 2025, held at the Gitoro Showgrounds. Over the course of four days, the University showcased its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and community impact through a dynamic exhibition stand that attracted hundreds of visitors and stakeholders.
The event commenced with great enthusiasm as Meru University joined various institutions, organizations, and exhibitors at the show. The University’s stand featured a wide array of projects and innovations from students, researchers, and academic departments.
Attendees had the opportunity to engage with practical demonstrations in areas such Smart Irrigation, Cancer and Malaria Diagnosis System using the Open Flexure Microscope, MUSTEA, Green Gold Miraa Infusion bag, Muguka Energy Drink, Miraa Kambucha, Miraa Capsules and Fruit wines, Herbal and Pharmacological Organic extracts for medicinal value from miraa and Muguka, Black Soldier Fly technology among others. Staff and students were on hand to guide visitors and offer understanding into the University’s academic programmes, research output, and innovation ecosystem.
By the second day, the University stand had gained notable attention, with a growing number of visitors interacting with the displays and learning about the institution’s mission and impact. Students confidently explained their work to guests ranging from learners and parents to professionals and government officials. The day reflected the University’s growing reputation as a hub for research-informed, student-centered learning.

The trophies were presented by the County Executive Committee Member for Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries (Meru County), Hon. Janaro Guantai Gatangugi. His visit, along with other government officials, marked an important moment of recognition and collaboration between academia and the public sector.
The final day of the show was graced by the University’s Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic, Research and Student Affairs), Prof. Thuranira, who represented the Vice Chancellor as the Guest of Honour. During the day, Prof. Thuranira was taken on a guided tour across various stands, where he explored a wide range of innovations and exhibitions presented not only by Meru University but also by other participating institutions and organizations.
The tour showcased practical solutions across sectors such as agriculture, technology, health, and education, highlighting the collaborative spirit and shared commitment to national development. At our stand, Prof. Thuranira interacted with staff and students, commending the team for their excellence in presentation, research, and innovation.
