Meru University Strengthens HR Framework Through Jointly Developed Career Guidelines
Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) has taken a significant step toward strengthening its human resource framework following the official handover of the University Career Guidelines to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Romanus, in a meeting held on 16th February, 2026 at main campus.
The guidelines were jointly developed by a technical committee comprising representatives from University Management and the leadership of staff unions. Present during the handover were members of the University Management Board led by the Vice Chancellor, as well as officials from UASU–MUST Chapter, KUSU, and KUDHEIHA.
Once approved by Management and the University Council, the Career Guidelines will become a key pillar of the University’s HR instruments. They are designed to promote best human resource practices, provide clear career progression pathways, and enhance fairness, transparency, and consistency in staff development and management processes.
Speaking during the meeting, the Vice Chancellor commended the spirit of teamwork and collaboration demonstrated by both Management and Union representatives throughout the process. He noted that the joint effort reflects a shared commitment to strengthening institutional systems and fostering industrial harmony at the University.
The collaborative approach taken in developing the guidelines underscores MUST’s commitment to social dialogue, mutual respect, and continuous improvement in governance and staff welfare.
