Launches an Advanced Life Support Ambulance

Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) has launched a state-of-the-art Ambulance to enhance service delivery.

Speaking during the launch the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Romanus Odhiambo said that the move to acquire the Advanced Life Support (ALS) Ambulance will make a real difference to the lives of people in the community.

“Today marks a new era in emergency medical response within Meru county and its environs as we introduce a state-of-the-art ambulance equipped with the latest technology and medical equipment to provide the highest level of care for those in need. Safeguarding the health and promoting the well-being of every human-being is essential to sustainable development.  Our aim is to save more lives and improve patient outcomes by providing the right care at the right time, and this new ambulance will play a critical role in achieving that goal. This resonates well with the resolution of the university to take a proactive role in health to the community.” Prof. Romanus Odhiambo.

Launches an Advanced Life Support Ambulance

The ambulance is equipped with the latest life support systems, including; Advanced airway management equipment, Defibrillators and Advanced monitoring equipment.  These will allow the medical personnel to provide care that is second to none.

MUST has also invested in the latest communication and navigation systems, ensuring that the ambulance crews can respond quickly and efficiently to emergencies, and that they are able to communicate with hospitals and other emergency services in real-time.

The Vice-Chancellor said that MUST would soon launch a course in Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Training to equip people with life-saving skills.

On 4th July, 2022, MUST launched the Meru University Medical and Research Centre whose core mandate is to create better healthcare opportunities as well as accentuate the Government’s commitment to improving the welfare of the country’s health sector for better services to Kenyans.
