MUST shines at the 12th World Urban Forum(WUF12) in Cairo, Egypt

The 12th World Urban Forum (WUF12) in Cairo, Egypt is themed “It All Starts at Home: Local Actions for Sustainable Cities and Communities,” emphasizes the critical role of local initiatives in addressing urban challenges, particularly in Africa. This forum highlights the urgent need for affordable housing and sustainable construction practices.

Dr. Joseph Mwiti, Head of LC3-TRC Africa & Director of the Institute of Cement and Concrete at Meru University of Science & Technology, had a privilege of presenting alongside Prof. Karen Scrivener, LC3 Project Director based at EPFL, Switzerland. They are working closely on an innovative technology that focuses on using Limestone Calcined Clay Cement (LC3) to enhance affordability and sustainability in the construction sector, particularly affordable housing.

Discussions centered on how such technologies can revitalize Africa’s construction sector while minimizing environmental impact.

We applaud their efforts towards promoting the uptake of Limestone Calcined Clay Cement(LC3) globally.
