MUST SUPPORTS THE SDGs

Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) is devoted to contributing to our local and the global community. We instill our students with a well-versed education and present opportunities for global awareness on crucial matters such as implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The MUST family in partnership with Utsunomiya University runs an Inter University Exchange project aimed at developing human resource to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals. This is achieved by merging African potential and Japanese Scientific Technology.

The students were awarded certificates for the Compulsory Intensive Course in a ceremony led by Our Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Romanus Odhiambo accompanied by the Lead Team, Dr. Cynthia Mugo and one of the lecturers selected for the international programme, Prof. Joshua Arimi.

The programme undertaken by 7 African Universities led by Utsunomiya University has seen twenty-one (21) post-graduate MUST students complete the lecture courses with two (2) of the best students leading the charts. Congratulations to Ms. Elsa Gatwiri (MSc. Molecular Biology) and Mr. Edwin Oduor (MSc. Environmental Science and Resource Management.)

The MUST family is proud of our 21 ambassadors.

The postgraduate students from the seven (7) African Universities have organized an International Students Web Symposium which will take place from 4th to 8th March 2022. The UU-A Student Summit will be held via Video On-Demand Online Platform.

The Summit, themed, “Bridging Young Research with Sustainable Development Goals” is designed to empower young researchers with a passion for cutting edge innovations, by offering a global platform for them to share new ideas and solutions with other like-minded individuals.

The summit will include participants from the following Universities: Meru University of Science and Technology (Kenya), Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (Kenya), Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia), University of Dar es Salam (Tanzania), Nelson Mandela University Africa Institution of Science and Technology (Tanzania), University of Ghana (Ghana) and Utsunomiya University (Japan)
