The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Romanus Odhiambo paid a courtesy visit to the Meru County Government to officially congratulate Her Excellency Hon. Kawira Mwangaza on her election as the Governor of Meru County and Hon. Isaac Mutuma M’Ethingia on his election as the Deputy Governor of Meru County.  The MUST Team was accompanied by officials from Max Global led by the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Cornelius Kiplagat.

The Deputy Governor Hon. Mutuma M’Ethingia appreciated the teams from MUST and Max Global for seeking ways to collaborate and partner with the Meru County Government.  Hon. M’Ethingia added that partnerships bring change socially, economically and also in other aspects of life.

Prof. Odhiambo, in his speech, highlighted that MUST is a hub of Research and Innovation.  He said that Agriculture being the main economic activity in Meru, MUST is eager to deploy its expertise for greater production which will boost income levels resulting in the economic empowerment of the community.

Hon. M’Ethingia assured the Vice-Chancellor that the Meru County Government would partner with the University in various initiatives.  The Deputy Governor commended the MUST management for seeking partnerships that offer solutions.  He added that the Meru County Government is ready to work with both local and International organizations that empower the people of Meru.

Mr. Kiplagat in his address accentuated the commitment of Max Global in partnering with the Meru County Government and MUST in the areas of policy development, industry linkages, curriculum review and capacity building.  Max Global is an organization based in Finland that helps Kenya students achieve their dreams by supporting them secure education in Finland as well as opportunities to work while they study.
