Diana is a student at Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) pursuing a Bachelor of Education Arts programme. Diana had travelled to Saudi Arabia in search of opportunities to raise funds for her education.  However, she went through a very difficult period while there that brought her emotional turmoil.  After Diana’s plight was highlighted, she was brought back to Kenya and a short while later she was enrolled back to the University to continue with her studies.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Romanus Odhiambo, greatly appreciated the Universities Fund for this great support.  The Universities Fund gave Diana a grant of Ksh. 131,000.

Speaking during the event, the Chief Executive Officer of the Universities Fund, Mr. Geoffrey Monari, said that he was very proud of Diana for overcoming the challenges and enrolling for her studies.  He further stated that Education transforms and changes people’s lives.  Mr. Monari encouraged Diana to always strive for excellence and be a good role model to others.

Diana appreciated the Universities Fund for the great support given to her. “I thank the Universities Fund for sponsoring my University education.  This will go a long way in helping me achieve my dreams. My story does not hurt anymore.  It is now a blessing”. Diana Chepkemoi.
