A TRAINING BY THE NEWTORK FOR ASTRONOMY SCHOOL EDUCATION

Network for Astronomy School Education (NASE) scientists from Spain, Prof. Rosa Maria Ros and Prof. Eder Viñuales, capture a moment with our physics students and lecturers after a training on the day-to-day demonstration and observation of astronomical events.

NASE is a branch of International Astronomical Union (IAU) whose purpose is to demonstrate astronomical events to students and teachers in order to create an awareness of the universe we live in and hence encouraging them to specialize in astronomy.

The training organized by Meru University of Science and Technology presented an opportunity for our students to learn, share and grow.

MUST believes in creating spaces designed for a student to develop within and out of lecture halls. Trainings, workshops and field studies are great examples of how a Meru University student becomes part of a learning experience supporting the theoretical knowledge acquired.

An integral part of quality education is personal development. Students are able to derive significant attributes, knowledge and skills within the right set up. Participation in workshops for instance taking part in duties related to public speaking, event co-ordination and/or project-oriented research, cultivate a sense of responsibility and open up the students to daily work-related tasks. This has proven to leave an unforgettable but more importantly, inspiring imprint within the developing work ethics of our students.
