MUST wishes  to recruit qualified and dedicated staff to fill the following vacant  positions;

ACADEMIC POSITIONS

SENIOR LECTURER – GRADE 13 – MUST/ACA/03/8/23 – (RE-ADVERTISEMENT)

Applicants are invited for the post of a Senior Lecturer in the following area:

Hospitality and Tourism Management – 1 position

Applicants must have:

  1. An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized University;
  2. At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the University level as a Lecturer or six (6) years research/industry experience;
  3. A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, of which at least twenty-four (24) should be from refereed scholarly journals;
  4. Supervised at least three (3) post graduate students to completion as a Lecturer or equivalent;
  5. Be registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable).

 

REMUNERATION

 A competitive remuneration will be paid in accordance with the Meru University of Science and Technology Terms and Conditions of Service.

 

TUTORIAL FELLOW – GRADE 11 – MUST/ACA/04/8/23

Applicants are invited to apply for subject teacher positions at the level of Tutorial Fellow in:

 

  1. Geography –  1 position
  2. History –  1 position
  3. CRE – 1 position
  4. Kiswahili – 1 position
  5. Midwifery – 2 positions
  6. Medical Surgical Nursing – 1 position

 

Applicants must:

  1. Have a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree ‘qualification from an accredited and recognized University in the relevant field;
  2. Be registrable for Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or equivalent Doctoral degree qualification;
  3. Be registered with relevant professional body (Where applicable);
  4. Having a PhD will be an added advantage.

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

The appointment will be for a contractual period of two (2) years renewable for a further period of two (2) years subject to satisfactory performance.

ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS

REGISTRAR, ACADEMIC AND STUDENT AFFAIRS – GRADE 15 – MUST/ADM/01/8/23  –  1 POST 

Applicants are invited for the post of Registrar, Academic and Student Affairs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Registrar, Academic and Student Affairs shall report to the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic and Student Affairs and shall co-ordinate the following functions and activities which include but not limited to:

 

  1. Academic Planning and development;
  2. Academic policies and procedures;
  3. Teaching and training which includes planning for academic programmes, preparation of syllabi and their regulations, timetables, examinations, certificates and transcripts and graduation, library services, and students’ attachment and training of academic staff;
  4. Students affairs which include admissions and records, student welfare (recreational, sports and games), counselling and discipline;
  5. Academic support services which include library services, co-ordination of the allocation of resources for academic purposes and safety in teaching areas;
  6. Academic quality assurance that shall include issues such as academic staff and programme appraisals;
  7. Allocation of academic facilities such as buildings, rooms and offices in the University as well as the formulation of the rules governing their allocation and utilization;
  8. Provision and management of student health care services;
  9. Provision of catering and accommodation services;
  10. Providing secretariat to Committees of Senate and other Committees chaired by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic and Student Affairs.
  11. Perform such duties as may be delegated or assigned by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic and Student Affairs and the Vice Chancellor.

 

Applicants must:

Be a holder of a PhD degree from an accredited and recognized University.

  1. Be at least a Senior Lecturer in a reputable University.
  2. Have minimum of three (3) years of administrative, academic and research experience at the level of a Dean or above in a University and/or research institution.
  3. At least eight (8) years’ work experience.
  4. At least 3 years’ experience in Senior management.
  5. Fulfill the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
  6. Be registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable).

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

The appointment will be for a contractual period of five (5) years renewable for a further period of five (5) years subject to satisfactory performance.

 

ASSISTANT FARM MANAGER –  GRADE 9 – MUST/ADM/02/8/23 – 1 POST

Applicants are invited for the post of Assistant Farm Manager.

 

Applicants must have:

  1. Bachelor degree in Agriculture management or equivalent.
  2. Computer proficiency.
  3. Five years’ practical experience as a Farm Supervisor.
  4. Fulfil the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.

REMUNERATION

A competitive remuneration will be paid in accordance with the Meru University of Science and Technology Terms and Conditions of service.

The appointment will be for a contractual period of one (1) year renewable subject to satisfactory performance.

b) Log in
i) After registration go to https://recruitment.must.ac.ke/
ii) Key in your username and password then click on ‘Log in’ to access your account.

c) Available Vacancies
i) On the Menu/Navigation bar (On the Left Hand side), Click on Vacancies to view available/open vacancies.
ii) A list of all open vacancies should populate on the page. Click on the View position button to view more details of the vacancy.

d) Applicant Profile
i) On the Menu/Navigation bar (On the Left Hand side), Click on Applicant Profile to edit and update your details. (Personal Details, Education Background, Employment/ Employment history among others).
ii) Be sure to provide accurate information and follow through the prompts to complete editing your profile.
iii) After successful updating of the applicant profile, the system will provide you with a Summarized PDF version of Summary of the “Applicant Profile”
iv) After submission of the updated profile, the system will redirect you to the vacancies page.

e) Application process
i) Go to the vacancies page as outlined in Section (c) Above.
ii) Click on view position for the Job you are interested in.
iii) Click on Apply job button (At the top right) to apply for the job.
iv) You have successfully applied for the position.

f) Job Applications
i) All successful applications will be maintained under “Job Applications” tab.
ii) To Access the “Job Applications” Page click on “Job Applications” link the Menu/Navigation bar (On the Left Hand side)

d) A clearance certificate from a Registered Credit Reference Bureau in Kenya
