AWS Student Community Day Kenya at Meru University of Science and Technology

Meru University of Science and Technology proudly hosted the AWS Student Community Day Kenya on Saturday, 28 February 2026, marking a vibrant inter-university technology engagement that brought together students from MUST, Kenya Methodist University, St. Paul’s University, Chuka University, and Tharaka University. The event embodied the theme Dream. Build. Scale., inspiring students to dream boldly, build innovative solutions, and scale their impact using cloud technologies.

The gathering provided a dynamic platform for professional networking, knowledge sharing, and hands-on learning, bridging the gap between classroom theory and real-world industry practice. Participants had the opportunity to engage with distinguished speakers from Amazon Web Services (AWS), including Veliswa Boya from South Africa and Tiffany Soutere from France, both senior developers at AWS, alongside Muriithi Gitonga, an AWS Solutions Architect. They were joined by leading Kenyan technology professionals Kevin Tuei, Wamata Muriu, Pauline Namwakira, Major Mbadi, and Jude Juma, whose insights highlighted the transformative power of cloud computing in Africa and beyond. Their sessions inspired students to embrace innovation, sharpen their technical skills, and prepare for impactful careers in the digital economy.
