Meru University of Science and Technology has won yet again the 2026-2027 Erasmus + staff and students mobility program in conjunction with Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences in Netherlands and Egerton University Kenya. This is the second time that MUST is winning the same project, the last one having been in 2023-2024 where 4 students and 5 staff members benefitted.
In the current set up, MUST will send 4 (four) students to the Netherlands to study for a period of 8 months and 2 (two) members of staff for a period of 22 days each. At the same time, MUST and Egerton will receive 3 (three) staff from Van Hall Larenstein University for a period of 22 days each. The same applies to Egerton University who will send out 4 (four) students to the Netherlands for a period of 8 months each and 2 (two) members of staff for a period of 22 days each. For Van Hall Larenstein University, the key researcher is Ms. Jannet Lavalette, Head of International affairs, For MUST we have Dr. Beatrice Owiti the COD Languages and Linguistics and for Egerton we have Prof. Alexander Kahi.
The team will invite students to apply for this scholarship where all expenses are paid including their upkeep. The program will encourage especially the following categories of students to apply
- People living with disabilities
- People facing certain barriers e.g. in education and training
- People considered to be culturally different
- People facing social. Or economic barriers
- People facing discrimination/geographical barriers.

When the call for applications are made, the applicants will encouraged to make their applications and a transparent selection process will follow. There is a special form that will be shared for the application. The successful candidates will be supported to have a seamless transition to the exchange program in the Netherlands.
