Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) invites applications from suitably qualified and dedicated internal staff to fill the following vacant positions:

PROFESSORS  – GRADE 15 – MUST/ACA/01/2022 – 4 POSTS

Applicants are invited for the post of Professor.

Applicants must have;

1. An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized University;
2. At least three (3) years teaching experience as an Associate Professor or equivalent and research experience;
3. A minimum of forty-eight (48) publication points since attaining Associate Professorship or equivalent of which at least thirty-two (32) should be from refereed scholarly journals;
4. Supervised a minimum of two (2) doctoral students to completion or four (4) Masters students to completion;
5. Evidence of a written proposal for research and development funds as an Associate Professor or equivalent;
6. Registered with the relevant professional body where applicable.

 

ASSOCIATE PROFESSORS – GRADE 14 – MUST/ACA/02/2022 – 11 POSTS

Applicants are invited for the post of Associate Professor.

Applicants must have;

1. An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized University;
2. At least three (3) years teaching experience at the University as a Senior Lecturer; or Senior Researcher/Industry experience or equivalent;
3. A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Senior Lecturer or equivalent of which at least twenty-four (24) should be from refereed scholarly journals;
4. Supervised a minimum of three (3) Masters students or one (1) doctoral student to completion;
5. Evidence of a written proposal for research and development funds as a Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow/industry equivalent;
6. Registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable).

 

SENIOR LECTURERS – GRADE 13 – MUST/ACA/03/2022 – 8 POSTS

Applicants are invited for the post of Senior Lecturer. Applicants must;

1. Have an earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification (or a Master degree qualification in special cases) in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized University;
2. Have at least three (3) years of teaching and research experience at the University level as a Lecturer or six (6) years research/industry experience;
3. Have a minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent of which at least twenty (20) should be from refereed scholarly journals;
4. Have supervised at least two (2) post graduate students to completion as a Lecturer or equivalent;
5. Be registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable).

 

LECTURERS – GRADE 12 – MUST/ACA/04/2022 – 16 POSTS

Applicants are invited for the post of a Lecturer. Applicants must;

1. Have an earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university and be registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable).

OR

2. A Master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university with at least three (3) years teaching experience at University level or at least six (6) years in research or in industry;
3. A minimum of 12 publication points, of which at least eight (8) should be from refereed journal papers;
4. Registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable);
5. Show progress of PhD training in the relevant area.

 

TUTORIAL FELLOWS – GRADE 11 – MUST/ACA/05/2022 – 1 POST

Applicants are invited for the post of Tutorial Fellow. Applicants must;

1. Have a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree qualification from an accredited and recognized University in the relevant field;
2. Be registerable for Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or equivalent Doctoral degree qualification;
3. Be registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable).

Remuneration

A competitive remuneration will be paid in accordance with the Meru University of Science and Technology Terms and Conditions of service.

      3. Available vacancies
         1. On the Menu/Navigation bar (On the Left Hand side), Click on advertised jobs to view available/open vacancies.
         2. A list of all open vacancies should populate on the page. Click on the View position button to view more details of the vacancy.
      4. Applicant profile
         1. On the Menu/Navigation bar (On the Left Hand side), Click on My Profile to edit and update your details. (Personal Details, Education Background, Employment/ Employment history among others).
         2. Be sure to provide accurate information and follow through the prompts to complete editing your profile.
         3. After successful updating of the applicant profile, the system will provide you with a Summarized PDF version of Summary of the “Applicant Profile”
         4. After submission of the updated profile, the system will redirect you to the vacancies page.
      5. Application process
         1. Go to the Advertised jobs as outlined in Section (c) Above.
         2. Click on view position for the Job you are interested in.
         3. Click on Apply job button (At the top right) to apply for the job.
         4. You have successfully applied for the position.
