Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) is pleased to announce its outstanding achievement in the 2023/2024 performance contract evaluation, conducted on 26th February 2025 at the University’s main campus. The evaluation was carried out by officials from the Office of the President and the Performance Contracting Management Unit (PCMU), who assessed the university’s progress in meeting key performance indicators and national goals.

This year, MUST received a commendable score of 2.69, marking a solid improvement compared to the previous year’s score of 2.9. The University has demonstrated resilience and commitment to continuous improvement in its overall performance. This score reflects the University’s ongoing efforts to enhance operational efficiency, academic excellence, infrastructure development, and service delivery to its stakeholders.

The evaluation process is a critical part of the government’s performance contracting framework, which aims to foster accountability, transparency, and better service delivery within public institutions. MUST has consistently strived to meet and exceed the expectations set in these contracts, and this year’s performance highlights the dedication of the University’s leadership, faculty, staff, and students in achieving the set objectives.

The evaluation session was attended by several key stakeholders, including the University Council Chair, an independent member of the Council, the University Management Board, and Heads of Departments. Their presence during the evaluation demonstrated the collective commitment of the University’s governance and management to improving performance at all levels.

MUST remains committed to strengthening its performance and achieving higher results in future evaluations. The University’s leadership is focused on addressing areas that require improvement, ensuring that every department and team is empowered to contribute to the institution’s overall success.
