Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) has strengthened its commitment to efficient service delivery with the commissioning of a new fleet of vehicles to support its transport operations.

The flagging-off ceremony was presided over by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Romanus Odhiambo, Ph.D., who described the occasion as a significant milestone in the University’s journey toward academic and operational excellence. He noted that the acquisition of the new vehicles reflects MUST’s strategic investment in safe, reliable, and efficient transportation for its growing community.

“These new additions are not just vehicles, but essential tools for service delivery. They will support academic logistics, enhance research activities, and facilitate the smooth execution of administrative functions,” said Prof. Odhiambo.

The Vice Chancellor further emphasized the importance of proper maintenance and responsible use of the new assets, calling on the Transport Department and designated drivers to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and adhere strictly to the University’s transport policy.

He officially commissioned the vehicles, expressing confidence that they will contribute significantly to the realization of the University’s mission.

The event was attended by the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Administration, Finance and Planning, Prof. Hilda Omae, Registrar for Administration and Planning Dr. Elijah Walubuka, Finance Officer Mr. Nephat Njeru, the Vice Chancellor’s Personal Assistant Ms. Mercy Mwiti, Transport Officer Mr. Michael Ngengya, Procurement Officer Ms. Irine Kendi, and members of the Transport Department.
