MUST Partners with Big Dadie Stores to Advance Research, Innovation and Technology Commercialization

Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Big Dadie Stores to establish a strategic partnership in research, innovation, capacity building, and technology commercialization.

The collaboration seeks to leverage the strengths of both institutions in advancing the development and commercialization of the Instant External Automatic Handbrake System, an innovative technology designed to provide practical solutions for industry.

The partnership will focus on joint research and product development, capacity building through training and workshops, technology transfer, and the establishment of infrastructure to support innovation and manufacturing. Through this collaboration, MUST will provide technical expertise, research support, and institutional resources, while Big Dadie Stores will spearhead product development initiatives and explore the establishment of manufacturing and workshop facilities at the University.

The Memorandum of Understanding will remain in force for a period of five years, with an option for renewal upon mutual agreement, providing a framework for sustained collaboration and shared growth.

This partnership underscores MUST’s commitment to strengthening academia-industry linkages by translating research into innovative, market-ready solutions that address societal and industrial challenges. It also creates opportunities for knowledge exchange, skills development, and the commercialization of home-grown technologies, further contributing to Kenya’s industrial and economic development.
