The team held a meeting with our Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Romanus Odhiambo accompanied by the University Management Board as well as four members of the School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA) led by the Dean, Mr. George Njeru. The Centre of Excellence will be built next to Engineering Complex B and will entail civil and associated works for at least nine laboratories that will also be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to support Electrical, Electronics and Mechanical engineering at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The centre of excellence will also support research activities as well as continuous professional training for practising engineering professionals in the aforementioned fields. The Vice-Chancellor thanked the Government of Kenya for making MUST one of the three universities where such centres will be built and called upon all persons involved in the project to do their absolute best to see that the project is realized within the stipulated project timelines.
