NOTICE FOR THE 12TH GRADUATION CEREMONY
This is to inform all students who meet the requirements for the conferment of Degrees and award of Diplomas/Certificates of Meru University of Science and Technology, that the University will hold its 12th Graduation Ceremony on Friday 4th October 2024, starting at 8.00 a.m. at the Graduation Gardens, Main Campus. Please note the following important details:
APPLICATION FOR GRADUATION
Prospective graduands are required to apply for the graduation through their student portals between Monday 12th August 2024 and Friday 6th September 2024.
CLEARANCE
Graduands will be required to clear with relevant departments through their students’ portal on or before Wedneday 18th September 2024 by 5:00pm. Students are requested to frequently visit the website for updates on students who have been cleared.
GRADUATING STUDENTS OFFICIAL NAMES IN THE ERP
Kindly ensure that your name is correctly spelt in the ERP. For any changes kindly contact the Office of the Registrar (Academic and Students’ Affairs) via: registrarars@must.ac.ke by close of business Thursday, 19th September, 2024.
GRADUATION FEE PAYMENT
Graduands must have cleared the graduation fee shown in Table 1, and any outstanding fees owed to the University. All payments must be made by Monday 16th September 2024. Graduands who will not abide by this deadline will not be allowed to graduate.
Students with financial queries to contact the Finance Office through email: finance@must.ac.ke or call: 0725 453 360.

GRADUATION FEE PAYMENT PROCEDURE
Payment will be made through the E-citizen platform as per the following step-by-step guide:
a) Login to the student portal: https://student.must.ac.ke
b) On the dashboard, go to “Fee Payment”
c) Under Fee Payment, click “Make Payment” and select the service you wish to pay for. For example, (Tuition Fee, Graduation fee etc.); In this case select “Graduation Fees”.
d) Key in the amount you wish to pay and click “Pay Now”.
e) The system takes you to another page with options on various methods you can use to pay with, i.e., Mpesa and other bank options plus a “Payment Ref” which is a unique seven-letter code, e.g. LLYXDZW. The Payment Ref becomes the “account number” for this transaction
f) Copy the Payment Reference code generated in (5) above and exit the platform. Go to Mpesa Sim Tool Kit on your phone and select “Lipa na Mpesa service”. Select Paybill option and enter 222222 as the pay bill (Business) number. Enter the “Payment Ref,” which is the 7-letter digit from Step 5 above as the account number. Input the amount which must be the same amount in Step 4 above and complete the transaction using your Mpesa PIN.
GRADUATION ATTIRE
Graduands are required to be in full graduation attire for both rehearsal and graduation ceremonies. In this regard, graduands are expected to collect their graduation attire between Monday, 23rd September 2024 and Thursday 3rd October, 2024 at the Gowns Store.
The graduation attire should be returned as from Wednesday 16th October 2024 to Friday 25th October 2024 after which a penalty of Kshs 1,000 per day shall be charged.
REHEARSAL AND GRADUATION CEREMONY
Graduands are required to attend the rehearsal on Thursday, 3rd October 2024 at 10.00 a.m. and the Graduation Ceremony on Friday 4th October 2024 at 8.00 am at the Graduation Gardens, Main Campus.
COLLECTION OF CERTIFICATES
You are hereby invited to collect your certificate and transcripts from Thursday 24th October 2024 in the Graduation Gardens as follows. The issuing stations will open from
8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m each day.

- Photocopy and Original of National Identity Card

NB: Failure to collect the certificate during the scheduled time will attract a storage fee.

The portal may take some time to update because fee payments are processed through E-Citizen. However, once the payment has been processed, the information will be updated accordingly.

You will need to replace the ID by obtaining police abstract and paying for the replacement of the same.

There may be a pending issue affecting your status. Since the list is managed by the Registrar-ASA, I recommend contacting their office at registrarasa@must.ac.ke for assistance.

will there be any problem if i send my friend to take back the gown for me?.. i guess no,, my main concern is if i dont pick the certificate on the scheduled dates will it cause me problems, will i be penalized or penalty will be after one year of not collecting the certificate?

The system is already configured; however, certain requirements must be met for it to function effectively, such as unit registration and fee payment. Unfortunately, some students fail to meet these requirements, making it challenging for us to post the results.
