SAMU Induction Workshop
The Student Association of Meru University (SAMU) will go through a 3-Day induction workshop ending on Friday, February 5, 2021 at the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre. The workshop is designed to equip the leaders with leadership and personal skills.
Speaking at the workshop, MUST Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Romanus Odhiambo congratulated the leaders on being elected and challenged the leaders to be model students who uphold integrity beyond reproach. Prof. Odhiambo encouraged the student leaders to make great use of the open door policy.
The induction process constitutes of presentations by facilitators, group activities, field activities and discussions, all meticulously designed to empower the young leaders to take up their roles effectively.
The workshop will cover a variety of topics including but not limited to:
- Personal Etiquette
- Effective Communication
- Protocol
- Functions of Student Leaders
- Stress Management
- Records Management
- Personal Financial Management
- Conflict Management
The Deputy Vice Chancellor, (Administration, Finance and Planning), Prof. Charity Gichuki and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor. (Academic and Student Affairs), Prof. Simon Thuranira presented on the organization, functions and services of the respective divisions.
