MUST HOSTS “Legally Clueless”

Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) in our dedication to empowering the youth hosted a podcast production, Legally Clueless by Adelle on Thursday, 31st October 2019 at our Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre.

Legally Clueless is a weekly podcast created by Adelle Onyango to establish a new unapologetically African narrative. The podcast and team driving it is committed to documenting different stages of the unique human journeys of everyday African people.

Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) students shared their most authentic stories for a segment: #100AfricanStories where Africans from all over the world share their stories, letting us into their world, experiences and challenges faced in their lives.

Adelle Onyango, one of the Top 100 Influential Africans 2019 and seasoned media personality with over 10 years’ experience as a radio presenter, is now focused on ensuring the African narrative is told by Africans.

“For years while on traditional radio I wanted to get out of the studio and go to people and give them a platform to tell their stories.”  Adelle Onyango writes on one of her Instagram posts.

These stories are consumed globally through her extensive reach on social media, the Adelle Onyango Initiative, podcasts and numerous speaking engagements around the world such as an upcoming event led by the Moth Mainstage. The Moth is a live storytelling platform told without notes, celebrating the ability of stories to honor both the diversity and commonality of human experience and satisfy a vital human need for connection.

“This University just like our great country is full of young talented individuals in all spheres of life. Meru University of Science and Technology is awakened and devoted to the needs of the youth. Our Chancellor, Dr. James Mwangi graciously gifted the University with an Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center. This is more than a stunning building, it is an incubation center serving students who have budding innovations. Students are mentored on how to develop their ideas professionally, learning crucial aspects such as idea development, copyrights, patents and commercializing innovations.” The MUST Vice-Chancellor. Prof. Romanus Odhiambo said during a courtesy visit by Adelle and team.

Meru University of Science and Technology supports the move to tell more stories as we break down stereotypes and false beliefs around the culture-rich and beautiful Africa.

We are proud of the Legally Clueless podcast led by Adelle Onyango and all other platforms dedicated to empowering the youth and uplifting the African narrative.

Our students continue to develop their skills in academia and through extra-curricular activities spanning the diverse clubs and societies available at our University.
