MUST Researchers, Lorraine Moindi and Beatrice Nyaga to join Youth Leadership and Ocean Conferences in Athens Greece

It is with profound gratitude that we embark on an amazing journey to participate in the 7th Youth Leadership Summit (https://www.soalliance.org/soablog/ooyls24) aimed at empowering young leaders to foster comprehensive solutions that harmonize the needs of society, industry, and the ocean environment, taking place next week in Athens, Greece, birthplace of Democracy.

We are also thrilled to be given the opportunity to attend the emblematic 9th Our Ocean Conference (https://www.ourocean2024.gov.gr/), concurrently taking place in Athens. This conference seeks to reaffirm the commitment to a sustainable blue economy while addressing key challenges and building upon the successes of the recent UN Environment Programme conference hashtag#UNEA6 in Nairobi.
The summit, set to take place at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) in Athens, promises to be a pivotal event in shaping the future of our oceans.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Professor Ioannis Tsipouridis (Dr) for his instrumental support in facilitating our participation and his continuous mentorship. Furthermore, we are thankful to Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) for fostering research collaborations with such esteemed professionals, who empower us to overcome barriers.

Our deepest thanks go to the organizers of the Ocean conference in Greece for extending this invaluable opportunity to us, especially to Dr. Dionysia-Theodora Avgerinopoulou, Greek Prime Minister’s Special Envoy for the Ocean, Our Ocean Conference 2024 Coordinator, Member of the Hellenic Parliament and Chair, Environment Committee of the Hellenic Parliament
