MUST takes lead in robotics training
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Romanus Odhiambo, receives two robotics kits presented by Lalai Samuel Ntongai
Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) has received two (2) robotics kits from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Mr. Lalai Samuel Ntongai, a member of staff serving in the Departments of Physical Sciences and Electrical and Electronics Engineering, presented the kits to our Vice-Chancellor Prof. Romanus Odhiambo on 9th May, 2023.
Lalai Samuel Ntongai is undergoing a Leaders training on Robotics coding and Automation sponsored by Worcester Polytechnic Institute (United States of America) to train trainers. After the completion of their training the trainers will teach students from primary and secondary schools, tertiary institutions and Universities on coding robots. Additionally, the students will take part in competitions among participating institutions within Kenya and Africa.
Meru University of Science and Technology is one of two Universities selected in Kenya to take part in this initiative. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Romanus Odhiambo, congratulated Lalai Samuel on this great milestone and for placing MUST on the global map. The Vice-Chancellor in his remarks said that this re-affirms the University’s commitment to excellence in Research and Innovation.
This program is expected to bring education of robotics to classrooms for kids at a low cost around the globe. This is aimed at integration of robotics coding in curriculums and classrooms in various institutions from primary, secondary, tertiary schools and Universities to suit students in the current 4th Industrial Revolution, artificial intelligence, 5th and 6th generation.
Lalai Samuel Ntongai is a specialist in Electrical and Electronics engineering. He is an alumnus of MUST having graduated in 2013 during the University’s 1st Graduation ceremony. Lalai is a mentor of the Robotics Community under the Meru University Science Innovators Club (M.U.S.I.C).
The MUST family congratulates Lalai on this great achievement.
