The Postgraduate Symposium & PhD Colloquium Programme 2026 was held at the Innovation Boardroom, bringing together postgraduate students, researchers, and facilitators for intensive academic engagement and research training. The programme was organized by the Director of Graduate School, Dr. Cynthia Mugo, in collaboration with RICE under the leadership of Prof. Amos Omamo,PhD

The event was officially opened by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Romanus Odhiambo, PhD alongside the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Simon Thuranira,PhD.

The symposium focused on strengthening postgraduate training, enhancing research capacity, and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration. Participants engaged in sessions covering research methodology, statistical analysis, research ethics, academic writing, grant writing, and strategies for successful postgraduate completion.

Key presentations included a session by Dr. Peter Kailemia on intellectual pragmatism in research methodology and another by Dr. Amos Chege on the role of artificial intelligence in postgraduate research and ethical AI use in scholarship. Additionally, Dr. Paul Bundi Karau guided scholars on navigating postgraduate success from administration to completion.

The programme equipped scholars with practical skills aimed at advancing impactful research, innovation, and academic excellence.
