Revised Student Exchange Opportunity in Canada
Meru University of Science & Technology and Medicine Hat College Canada have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Exchange Agreement. One of the key areas of collaboration is student exchange program.
Business Administration Student Exchange at Medicine Hat College, Canada
The first phase of the partnership offers Student Exchange opportunity in business administration discipline. The University is hereby advertising for one student exchange opportunity targeting Diploma in Business Administration students who have completed first year of study. The students must be willing to complete his/her second year of study in Canada. The units taken in Canada will contribute towards graduating with a diploma in business administration of Meru University of Science and Technology.
Tuition Exemption
As part of the Student Exchange Agreement, all Tuition, application. student ancillary fees (except medical insurance fees) will be waived at the Medicine Hat College for the Exchange Student.
To qualify for this student exchange, applicants should demonstrate the following:
1) Have attained a mean grade of B of at least 65 points in year one units. A pass in KCSE Mathematics and English is required.
2) Ability to cater for Costs to be Incurred by Exchange Students
Exchange Students are responsible for all other arrangements and costs, including but not limited to those associated with travel, accommodations, meals, immigration/visa requirements, study materials, medical insurance, repatriation, mandatory fees, and incidental costs. These costs are estimated to be between CAD$ 12,000 – $15,000. This financial proof may be required when applying for study permit.
MUST nominated Exchange Student could also quality for a Study in Canada Scholarship. Medicine Hat College will apply for this scholarship on behalf of nominated MUST exchange (details will be provided to a nominated student). If the student wins this scholarship, the expenses under No. 2 will be covered.
This is to request all interested candidates who meet the above criteria to apply. Attach your year one result slip/ transcript on your application letter. All applications should be dropped at the Deputy Vice Chancellor – Academic and Student Affairs Office at the Main Campus by 5pm on Thursday 25th March 2021. Applications can also be sent by email to: dvcars@must.ac.ke by the same date. Applications sent after 25th will NOT be reviewed.
The student who will be selected will be required to pay a deposit of $1500, roughly KSh. 150,000 deposit fee which is either refunded to them when they arrive in Canada (if have won Canada study scholarship) or is transferred to go towards the cost of the student residence accommodation. In addition, the student will send an application to Medicine Hat College,pay for application of his/her passport and Visa. Other details on the scholarship will be provided to the candidate immediately after selection.
