Science & Tech at MUST

Friday, January 28, 2022. Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) is devoted to support the increasingly pivotal roles science, technology, innovation and research play in everyday life.

Our University Council, led by the Chairperson, Prof. Bosire Monari Mwebi held a meeting with staff from our School of Computing and Informatics (SCI) to discuss the future of science, technology and research at MUST.

SCI, established in 2011, serves as home to a variety of global market-relevant programmes. Among them is the Bachelor of Science in Data Science, a programme designed to offer guidance to the world as we navigate the much needed nuances of data knowledge and management. The Meru University community is determined to not only play a leading role in offering Quality Education but also offer leadership within the academic sphere, as we are the first university to offer the programme in Kenya.

The School of Computing and Informatics works to continually transform society through technology and innovation.” Dean, School of Computing and Informatics, Dr. Makau Mutua.

At MUST, we go beyond the lecture hall; Holistic Development. Industry linkages create avenues for networking, career establishment and growth. This serves as the most efficient space to introduce students to the global industry. The School of Computing and Informatics collaborates with corporations such as Google, ICDL, Huawei and Oracle. These partnerships present our students and staff the chance to network and learn from the ever-evolving industry.

“We have to continue offering solutions to industry.” Prof. Bosire Monari Mwebi.
