MUST students to spend five (5) months at Van Hall Larenstein, University of Applied Science in the Netherlands

Our Vice-Chancellor Prof. Romanus Odhiambo and the entire project team of the Food Waste Reduction and Food Quality Living LAB (FORQLAB) in Avocado value chain in Kenya conducted an orientation for five (5) Masters students who were selected for the FORQLAB Erasmus+ mobility. This will enable the Master of Science students to go on an exchange program to Van Hall Larenstein University in the Netherlands for a period of 5 months.  The selection process involved publishing an advertisement for interested applicants that was shared widely through the University website and social media platforms.

The selected students are; Annette Cheptoo (School of Agriculture and Food Science), Shelef Ochieng’ (School of Agriculture and Food Science), Kennedy Manyara (School of Business and Economics), Oscar Wamalwa (School of Business and Economics) and June Sharon Kinoti (School of Pure and Applied Sciences).

Meru University of Science and Technology in conjunction with Van Hall Larenstein, University of Applied Science in the Netherlands are implementing the FORQLAB project. The Project team includes: Prof. Romanus Odhiambo (Vice-Chancellor-MUST), Prof. Peter Masinde, Dr. Eric Mworia and Dr. Beatrice Owiti.

Part of the project’s objective is to support five (5) postgraduate students in related programmes to undertake their research and participate in student’s exchange programme between the two universities. Meru University of Science and Technology creates national and international linkages offering our students the opportunity to be a part of the constantly evolving global market.
